What are the rules regarding fireworks on the beach?
Fireworks are strictly prohibited in Sandbridge.
Do I need a fishing license to fish in Sandbridge waters?
A license is required for all fishing in Virginia for individuals over the age of 16 and can be purchased at WalMart (757 430-1836 or online at VA DEPT of Game and Inland Fishers. We have the bay and the ocean, pier, surf, and from docks or boats.
Can I take my pet on the beach?
Dogs are permitted on the beach before 10 am and after 6 pm Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend (season). Leash laws are in effect at all times, including the times pets are allowed on the beach in the off-season. Read our pet policies or search all pet friendly rentals.
Can I rent for less than 1 week?
Some properties allow shorter stays of less than 7 nights. Reservations for fewer than 3 nights are not offered. Please call our Reservations Department at 1-800-933-4800 for availability.
Are there lifeguards at the beach?
Lifeguards monitor Sandbridge Beach in two public beach areas (Sandbridge Market and Little Island Park, parking fee applies) from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Can I leave my beach gear on the beach overnight?
No, beach gear and other personal items MUST be removed from the beach daily. Those in violation of this city ordinance will be fined.
When are the pools and hot tubs open?
Can I park my RV at my vacation rental?
Parking of all vehicles must be on driveways. Recreational Vehicles may not be plugged into electric or water at any property at any time. On-street parking is available in some locations and side streets.
What is there to do in Sandbridge?
Sandbridge Beach offers families the choice of a relaxed beach vacation or a vacation filled with activities ranging from surfing, fishing, biking, hiking, kids camps, SUP, and so much more. Each of our rental properties also a unique set of amenities ranging from basketball, game rooms, theater rooms, indoor pools, and more, to provide endless activities for your family to enjoy.
How far is the boardwalk from Sandbridge?
Our world-famous oceanfront boardwalk located in the resort area of Virginia Beach is approximately 20- 25 minutes from Sandbridge.
What is the weather like in Sandbridge?
Sandbridge offers ideal vacation temperatures in the spring, summer and fall seasons, with a year-round average hovering around 70 degrees.
Are you like the Outer Banks?
Sandbridge Beach is known to many as “The Outer Banks of Virginia”, but with a closer proximity to major cities driving from the North, and with easier access to the beach from most properties.
How far is it to the beach?
Depending on where your rental property is located, the beach is just within a few feet! Public beach access ways are conveniently located throughout our community to ensure everyone can easily enjoy our white sandy beaches.
Is the beach private?
The beach is public and available for everyone’s enjoyment. Please keep our beaches “Beachy Clean” by removing all of your trash and helping to keep our precious beaches and waterways clean!
How far is the walk from 3rd or 4th row?
Sandbridge is located between two incredible bodies of water….the Atlantic Ocean to the east and expansive Back Bay to the west. Getting to the beach from 3rd or 4th row homes is convenient via public beach access pathways. View the location gallery and see exactly how easy it is to be on the beach in no-time!
What time of year is the wildlife refuge open?
Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge is open during daylight hours only (1/2 hour before sunrise until ½ hour after sunset) daily, year-round. Daily fee charged April – October, Free November – March. Subject to change.
Are you close to main attractions?
Sandbridge Beach is close to main attractions like the Virginia Aquarium, Ocean Breeze Water Park, and Motor World, as well as our famous resort area, home to the boardwalk. In addition, we offer year-round festivals and events to keep you entertained at all times. Shopping, night life, restaurants, farm-to-table, craft breweries, so much to offer!
