FIREBREW Bar & Grill is the creation of Master Chief Petty Officer, USN, Retired, Dean and Sue Gonsior, the former area developers for all Tropical Smoothie Cafes (TSCs) in the Hampton Roads, Virginia market.

In 2001, the Gonsiors opened the first TSC in Virginia and just nine years and 38 units later, they had expanded Tropical Smoothie Cafe from an unknown concept to a household name throughout Hampton Roads.

In 2010, the Gonsiors sold their TSC territory rights and began their transition from the quick casual to full service restaurant concept.

After a year of design and construction, they proudly opened FIREBREW Bar & Grill to the public in March 2011.

Dean and Sue are supported by a great team, including their daughters, Laura and Jenny, and a dedicated team of chefs, cooks, hosts, servers, bartenders, and dishwashers.

We prepare the majority of our menu items using our open flame Fire Deck oven which is visible to nearly all our guests as they dine in our casual, yet cozy dining room.

We proudly DO NOT use any microwaves or fryers in our restaurant. Preparing your meal may take a few extra minutes, but it's worth it.

Our full-service bar provides our guests with a full line of alcoholic drinks, including several local and regional craft beers on draft. Our exclusive self-service wine station allows our guests to "explore, taste, and enjoy" several wines at their own leisure.
