Sherwood was accused multiple times but only went to trial in 1706 when Elizabeth Hill calimed Sherwood had caused her to miscarry. She received a trial by water on July10, 1706. It was believed that was innocent if she sank and guilty if she would float. Sherwood floated and was convicted. It is believed that she was released from prison by 1714.
