USLA National Lifeguard Championships

The USLA National Lifeguard Championships started this past Sunday with a one mile swim and a 5k swim race at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The competition resumes on Wednesday, August 8th. All events are being held between 27th and 30 St. This is the first time Virginia Beach has hosted this event since 2014. This national competition draws lifeguards from all around the world. They will compete in races spanning swimming, running, and paddle boarding. All events are open to the public.

2018 Virginia Beach Tattoo Arts Festivals

The 6th Annual Virginia Beach Tattoo Festival will take place this weekend from August 10th-12th at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. There is still plenty to do if you're not interested in getting a tattoo. There will be a BMX stunt team, Carnival of Curiosity and Chaos, and live mural paintings.

Commonwealth Vibez

Commonwealth Vibez takes place every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month in the summer. This week, it's a funk theme. Grab your beach chairs or blanket and relax while listening to live music presented by the following bands:

Noon-3pm: The Lifehacks

3:30-5:30pm: The Gold Sauce

7-10pm: Black White Blues

There will also be pop-up vendors and craft beer available.

Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ

Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ...what more could you want? The Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival takes place on Saturday, August 11th at Hunt Club Farm in Virginia Beach. Admission gets you unlimited beer and bourbon. There will be 60+ beers and 40+ bourbons to choose from as well as loads of delicious BBQ. Check out the main stage for live music.

Keith Urban

Keith Urban will be bringing his Graffiti U World Tour to the Veteran's United Home Loans Amphitheater on Sunday, August 12. Keith Urban is an accomplished musician who has won ten Country Music Association Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, a People's Choice Award, and an American Music Award. Graffiti U is Urban's 10th studio album and was released on April 27, 2018. Kelsea Ballerini will be joining Urban as the opening act.
